To be disabled doesn’t mean the loss of abilitiescapabilities; in fact, it is to gainrediscover other talents. The most important thing is to take advantage of these capabilitiesin sport, this is essential. Playing sports endows you with realisations of identity, solidarityteamwork. It enhances our self-confidence to achieve more physicalintellectual capacities than we previously thought ourselves capable of.

Sport for disabled persons originates in therapeutic exerciseis developed together with physical rehabilitation. Its origin comes from the necessity of motivating an injured person in need of rehabilitation. Progressively, it has become detached from a merely therapeutic meaning, transforming itself into a leisurecompetitive activity. Sport is more than just giving your all during a competition. The result isn’t measured in “winning”, but in effortthe satisfaction of participation - that is what gives you your personal “ victory”.
